Michael Caines is launching a bespoke apprenticeship scheme in the autumn as part of his drive to inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals.
Alongside the already successful Michael Caines Academy at Exeter College, the new Michael Caines Apprenticeship scheme will start in September. Starting with an industry taster phase, the successful applicants will begin with a 9-week rotation, spending time at each of the Michael Caines Collection locations, experiencing all the hospitality industry has to offer.
The Michael Caines Academy was launched in 2011 at Exeter College. Michael is a former student and went on to become a Michelin-starred chef. He was awarded an MBE in 2006 for services to the hospitality industry.
There are currently four Michael Caines Academy students training at Lympstone Manor. (Pictured is Fin) The students are onsite for six weeks and will experience practical and professional experience with our renowned experts across the Michael Caines Collection.
The Michael Caines Academy at Exeter College aims to nurture the region’s future generation of talented restaurateurs, chefs, restaurant managers, waiters and front of house staff. Working with Michael Caines MBE, the Academy combines practical, professional catering and hospitality qualifications with a range of visits, experiences, work placements and demonstrations involving the region’s most renowned food experts.
With higher entry criteria and a rigorous interview process, the academy offers just 20 places per year to students who demonstrate a real passion for the industry and the ambition to excel.
Now the Michael Caines Apprenticeship scheme, in collaboration with Exeter College, has been created to offer top industry experience to up and coming hospitality professionals. The apprenticeship aims to transform lives and allow passionate learners to accelerate their career from the start.
The successful apprenticeship applicants will be offered a diverse and cutting edge training programme to learn across the Michael Caines Collection, including Lympstone Manor, Mickeys Beach and Cafe Patisserie Glacerie. With the potential to graduate with a job within the Collection, this anticipated course is a chance of a lifetime for young professionals.
Michael said, ‘I am always looking for ways to inspire the next generation in an industry I love. Our aim at the Michael Caines Collection is to drive and inspire students to achieve the highest level of excellence in all aspects of the hospitality industry. It’s about putting something back into the industry, helping to inspire young people to grow and reach their fullest potential.’
